Session 31 - The Battle is On

18th Uktar, 1371 DR
Afternoon
Sewer level, below the DockWard
Cold overcast day with rain

Covered in thick vine-like sprouting spores, and looking quite ridiculous for that matter, the Heroes know they are in for a difficult Battle. This may be it for our brave Adventurers. At the end of the curving ramping down hallway, a grand circular chamber opens to a height of 100 feet. Opposite the entry is a tall octagonal column of jet-black stone, glowing with green symbols running up one of its faces. A deep pool of placid green glowing liquid ripples before the column, bathing the entire chamber otherworldly light. On a pedestal adjacent to the pool is a curious small cylindrical object.

Floating above the pool is a humanoid form with strange rubbery purplish flesh, dressed in black robes, wielding a red staff of searing red hot metal, at its head a twisting molten glowing magic. The creatures head is hairless and bulbous, with four long tentacles where its mouth should be. Inside all the Heroes heads' can be heard the alien voice, "You dare enter my sanctum...Fools. I shall finish what Telakin could not. Your weak minds will be a sumptuous feast, your terror a pleasing Garnish that I will slurp up with some fava beans".

As already indicated below, roll your initiative. YEAH..this could be it.

The Whistler

Kamist knows this whistler who was sick of the band abusing him, and decided to start his own. He walked into a music shop in Waterdeep, planning to buy the first instruments he saw. "Give me the red saxophone and that accordion!", he said. The assistant said, "You play the whistle, don't you?" "That's right. Why?" "Well, the red courier tube I can sell you - but the steam radiator stays.

The Mysterious Note (REPOST)

REPOST
11th Uktar

Alobron receives a mysterious note at the Crooked House Inn:

Dear Gladiator Alobron,

Of course you probably don’t remember me, but I watched you in the games the year before last and was wondering if you might be willing to participate once again. You see my charge, a licensed manager, has asked me to approach you and see if you might form a team. Of course my charge will pay the hefty entrance fee and sponsor you. We will be in town on the 18th of Uktar. We are traveling up from Amn and are trying to beat the coming storm. If this is something you might be interested in, we would like to meet with you and any other Champions you can muster at the Crooked House Inn on the evening of the 18th.

To refresh your memory I was the water girl. The one who used to work for the cruel Loris Raknian, the one who you helped. Of course you will probably not remember me, but I remember you and will forever be in your debt. As it turns out my new charge is trying to put together a team for the upcoming games and I heard of your exploits and how you saved hundreds of children from a rampaging Chimera, word spreads fast. I knew you were the one so I sang of your past exploits and convinced my charge to meet with you and see if you might consider putting a team together for the Champions’ Belt Tournament. Please consider meeting with us.

Sincerely,

Celeste

Ultimate Gaming Table Idea

I decided if I had the extra $9,650 I would want this Table.

Battle is On - Session 31

Each of the Heroes is about to face their toughest battle to date. The Mind Flayer looks hell-bent on consuming your brains and you are sure those Octopada with him will be able to slither after you if you try and run. Also the players should be on the look out for that nasty Vrock who may be still in the area...Its last words..."This is not over!"

So in this very dire situation each Player may email by 12 noon Friday 9/5 with input on their PC quest card, for the next Session (31). Player participation prior to deadline will be rewarded with an additional XP bonus.

Good Luck...the Heroes will need it.

Session 30 - Post Session Report

18th Uktar, 1371 DR
Afternoon
Sewer level, below the DockWard
Cold overcast day with rain

Having bested a number of strange octopin creatures, the Heroes found what could only be described as an ancient Octopoda Ruin. In stark contrast to the cavernous rough walls leading to this place each magical stone of this place was carved with intricate reliefs of tentacled horror. In a circular pattern this odd place spiraled downward.

Within the heroes encountered a huge stone brain that tried to mind control Alaobron. Alobron made quick work of the brain with his adamantine weapon. Later Egwaine was almost eaten alive by a even larger version of the small octopin creatures. Still further down the spiral, the Heroes encountered what could only be described as a mad scientists workshop, complete with horrors beyond description. Within this workshop a Large Demon stood dormant. Alobron of course charged in and attempted to destroy it only to find it enchanted with the Displacement Spell. That was an aggravating factor that multiplied in danger when the Vrock sprung to life and began tearing up the party. The battle was soon over and the Vrock forced to flea via teleportation, but not before it infecting most of the heroes with festering spores.

Further down the Spiral the Heroes came to a very large chamber which they had seen before from a balcony above. Here Zyrxog waited with 7 of his octopin horrors.
As you round the bend in the chamber he just laughs as he floats above the large pool of liquid within the very large chamber.
